Chandelier Louis XV

Very important Louis XV style chandelier in gilt bronze and cut crystal.

Made in the form of a cage, the central shaft of “baluster” shape is surrounded by sixty-four arms of light ending in foliage and decorated with faceted cut crystal pendants.

The famous Baccarat crystal factory, whose origins date back to the 18th century, won its first gold medal at the 1823 Exhibition of Industrial Products, where it was hailed for the “brilliance and finesse of crystal” and became the leading crystal factory in France. A key word recurs in all the reports of the World Fairs where the Baccarat crystal factory dominates, it is “the perfection of the material and the size”.
