This wall lamp is a variation of the fashion of the half-chandeliers of the 18th century. Between the chandelier and the arm of light, these atypical lightings were greatly appreciated by Marie Antoinette who ordered them in 1786 for her boudoir of the castle of Fontainebleau.
This model takes the form of a violin of chandelier of the apartments of the Pope of Fontainebleau Castle.
Its originality also lies in the transparency games offered by its ornaments, rock crystal pendants in the form of a drop supported by small bronze arms, and two daggers that form a pyramid with both arms of light.
These arms, which rise from the lower level, are composed of a crystal cup and a chiseled candle sleeve.
Note that the two dagger-shaped crystal are found in the series of thirteen candelabra from 1862 preserved in the Louvre museum.
